Why Become A Partner
- Why do the Mississippi Braves all wear the same uniform? To identify that they are all on the same team.
- Why does a married couple wear wedding rings? To symbolize their commitment to each other.
- Why do Christians get baptized? To publicly indicate their faith in Jesus Christ.
In the same way, becoming a partner at LifeBridge indicates your willingness to formally align with the mission, vision, values, and beliefs of LifeBridge Church. There are many reasons to become a partner at LifeBridge. Here are a few:
- Formal partnership is valuable to the leaders of the church as they guide the church body. Our mission at LifeBridge is to connect people with God and with other people so they can experience life at its very best. We have been put here to connect with other people and let them know about the God we follow and the life He offers. At some point it is important to identify those who truly comprise the "family" at LifeBridge, the core that can be counted on to build and advance the ministries of the church.
- Even though you will not find the term "church partner" in Scripture, this concept is found throughout the New Testament. Believers clearly identified themselves with a specific local church and were challenged to become devoted participants.
- In a culture where commitment is no longer highly valued, formal partnership is an important step that moves each of us off the sidelines and into the game. It presents a challenge to publicly affirm a commitment to Christ and to a specific local body of believers. It is letting church leadership know, "You can count on me."
Maybe you hesitate because you have questions about the Bible, Christianity, or baptism. We'd love to talk with you about your questions. And we would enjoy getting to know you while we walk with you through your questions and concerns.
At LifeBridge we will never force people to do something they don't want to do. We recognize that commitment is something that might be a bit uncomfortable. Yet at LifeBridge we often encourage people to be a little uncomfortable because discomfort pushes us to grow and to mature. If you've been attending LifeBridge for a while we want to challenge you to consider partnering with us. If you have reservations about something you've experienced at LifeBridge, we hope you will talk with Philip or someone else on the leadership team about your concerns.
You won't receive an engraved plaque or a reserved parking spot when you become a partner at LifeBridge. You will, however, experience the satisfaction of knowing that you are an important part of the body at LifeBridge, and you are instrumental in helping people connect with God and with other people.
